  • Aloe Vera is known to have anti-inflammatory and immune-boosting properties that may help alleviate allergic reactions affecting the skin and coat in some dogs. It contains a wide range of plant nutrients to help promote maintenance and repair of tissues. Human studies using Aloe Vera report reduced inflammation and pain from arthritis; this may also be beneficial for dogs suffering from arthritic pain and larger breeds prone to joint problems.
  • Arcola Cherry is a rich source of the antioxidant vitamin C which helps to support a strong and healthy immune system. Dogs don’t necessarily require additional vitamin C in the diet however it can benefit stressed dogs, ill dogs and those participating in a lot of exercise. It can also help promote resistance to disease and improved ability to recover from illness or injury.
  • Apples are an excellent source of vitamin A, vitamin C and pectin (a fibre) for immune system support and gastrointestinal health.
  • Apricots contain the trace element potassium which supports heart function and beta carotene a natural plant antioxidant which can help support your dog’s immune system. Apricots can also supply some dietary fibre to help the digestive system.
  • Beef is an excellent source of protein for dogs. Protein is used in many body functions including supply of amino acids and the maintenance of strong healthy muscles. BarkBites are made with fresh beef and they do not contain any rendered meats or animal by products.
  • Beetroot is rich in vitamins, minerals calcium and iron and the trace element potassium.
  • Blueberries are packed with the antioxidant anthocyanin which is known to help support the immune system by protecting the cells involved in many metabolic processes. Blueberries help protect the brain from oxidative stress, have been shown to enhance the effects of vitamin C, support urinary tract health and vision.
  • Brewer’s Yeast is rich in omega fatty acids, B vitamins and antioxidants, this can help support general health, promote a healthy supple skin and shiny coat, support joint flexibility, aid flea control and help maintain the immune system.
  • Carob is a source of vitamins (A, B1, B2, B3, E) and minerals (calcium, iron, potassium, magnesium, phosphorus).
  • Carrots are an excellent source of fibre and minerals. They also supply natural beta carotene, an antioxidant which can help protect the body at a cellular level. They are rich in vitamin A and help to support healthy eyesight.

  • Cellulose from plant fibre may help promote a feeling of satiety, keeping hunger pangs at bay and aiding weight control when fed as part of a calorie controlled diet. Cellulose also helps support gut motility and regular bowl movements.

  • Chlorophyll is a green pigment used by plants during photosynthesis. It has many health benefits including helping to control hunger pangs and bad breath, anti-inflammatory properties and the maintenance of healthy blood. However its primary benefit lies in its antioxidant properties. Chlorophyll is known to help protect cells from oxidative damage by free radicals that are generated by the body during many cellular processes.
  • Chondroitin is a naturally occurring product found in animal cartilage. Chondroitin’s primary function is to neutralize destructive enzymes which are found naturally in the joint. When injury or abnormal wear occurs these enzymes increase accelerating cartilage destruction. When chondroitin is added to the diet it helps to reduce the level of these enzymes. Chondroitin works synergistically with glucosamine and MSM.
